Schimberni told Italy's leading an- ti-corruption judge Antonio Di Pietro that the monjy was paid into a Swiss Bank account in 1986 at Craxi's requ- est. He said thj Money was paid in two intallments, the first in April 1986 and thj second in July of the same year, when Craxi was prime minister. Craxi, the former head of thj Italian Socialist Party (PSI) has been living in his homj in Tunisia owing, he says, to poor health and has ignored demands to return to Italy to face corruption charges.
