P314 RTR R-TEL 314 21/12/93 15:32.28            PACIFIC FLEET REQUEST FOR MORE DUMPING The Russian Pacific Fleet is to ask the government for permission to resume dumping nuclear waste at sea. The request comes despite an international outcry last October, a naval staff officer told the ITAR-TASS news agency on Monday. Russian freighters are currently loaded with liquid radioactive waste, which they cannot store indefinitely. Russian authorities say the waste could not be handled any other way.
