P521 521 TELEINF 20:11:19 DOLLAR DROPS, GOLD HIGHER NEW YORK - The dollar fell in late trading Thursday aftjr an active session dominated by technical sell-offs after the greenback dropped below its support levels. The ounce of gold meanwhile was up one dollar to 383.30 dollars an ounce. At around 5:10 p.m., the dollar was at 1.5152 german marks against 1.5340 from Wednesday's close and at 99.13 yen against 99-53 yen. The dollar was also at 1.2755 swiss francs (1.2910), at 5.2495 french francs (5.3015) and at 0.6299 pounds sterling (0.6369). Investors said that the drop in the dollar was technical and that thj sell-offs were triggered by the impression that the dollar was being overbought.
