The R-TEL signal is scrambled, then mixed with the normal TV signal. It cannot be seen in the ordinary television picture. But, unlike ordinary newspapers, R-TEL is kept updated throughout the day, bringing you the very latest news. Each page of the R-TEL magazine has a three digit number. But others (like this one) have several sub-pages rolling over in a cycle at regular intervals - to save you from turning over the pages yourself! Look in the top right hand corner of this page. You'll see the numbers which means that the current page is sixth in a series of nine rolling pages Instant access...

The red, green, yellow and blue buttons correspond to the four pages highlighted in these colours at the foot of the current teletext page.
